Sometimes, a good idea just hits you in the head

In the wee hours of the morning, I was working on the Pawfun.com site when suddenly, this postcard, picturing my first dog, Sammy, flew off a bookshelf near my computer and hit me in the head.
It was a New Year card, one of thirteen I made for every one of Sammy’s years with me. I took that picture in the golden light of dawn on our last trip to the beach.
Sammy, who weighed 92 pounds, could swim like Michael Phelps when he was young, but on that trip, Sammy mostly sat with me, contentedly watching the waves. Occasionally, we got our feet wet and came back to the blanket. We wanted for nothing but a cooler breeze.
Benny Bix Ochman Labradoodle Puppy has been in my life for three years, and Sammy is a yellow angel who is always near my heart. It was just like Sammy to hit me in the head and say “Hey! I want to be part of Pawfun too.” And you are, good buddy. You are.
