noni_orchid_thief2A Pawfun Blog reader asks: I have adopted a four to six year-old cat that was discarded when the owner died. It has not been spade and none of the neighbors know if it ever had its shots. It’s an indoor cat that doesn’t get along with any other cat. Is there a way to find out if the cat has ever had her shots?

Holistic veterinarian Dr Jill Elliot says: It was kind of you to adopt this cat. There is no way to know if it’s had shots unless you know who the previous vet was. Or where it originally came from. If it came from an organization like like ASPCA or the Center for Animal Control and Care, it would have had shots before it could be placed in a new home. However, getting the shots again would be safe if you can’t find out more about its past.
