More than a dozen new works by my friend and neighbor, the remarkable photo realist painter, Ester Curini, will bre featured in a March 1- March 31 exhibit at the famed Bernarducci Meisel Gallery in New York City.

Above, meet Curini’s latest subject, Ralphie, (acrylic on canvas 72″x 48″) whom she met at Woodstock Animal Sanctuary. Curini’s goal, she says, is to capture the essence of the animal’s spirit.

First, she photographs her subject, and then begins her painting with the eyes, in which you’ll see the reflection of its natural surroundings, and, often, also her reflection. As you can see in the detail, below, she then meticulously paints every hair of her subject, spending months on each of her huge canvases.

The March opening reception of Ester Curini’s exhibit at Bernarducci Meisel Gallery on Thursday March 1 from 5-7 pm, is open to the public.

Designer Pet

The true spirit of the animal has been captured. The image is awesome! Great talent. I have a designer pet website. The focus in our culture is mainly on dogs and other pets but this cattle image shows us another type of animal and gives us a glimpse into its character. Well done.
