Einstein – the most amazing bird you will ever meet

Einstein is a an African Grey Parrot has lived at the Knoxville Zoo in Tennessee for some 20 years. He’s approximately 25 years-old and he has a blog and an agent, ringtones, more than 6.5 million YouTube views, and he’s spoken at a TED Conference.

Einstein responds to more than 100 cues, words and sounds. Dr. Irene Pepperbergs, who has researched the birds for many years and says that they have the ability to associate human words with meanings and intelligently apply the abstract comcepts of shape, color, number, etc.

African Grey Parrots are also claimed to perform cognitive tasks at the level of dolphins, chimpanzees, and even human toddler. And you thought it was cool that you taught your parrot to say “Pretty Boy!”
