Pawfun Product Review: Stella & Chewy’s freeze-dried Super Blends Mixers
By BL Ochman
Pawfun Rating: 4 Paws Up
Benny Bix Ochman Labradoodle has been testing Stella & Chewy’s freeze-dried Super Blends Mixers, which were sent to us by Chewy.com.
Benny tried the Duck & Goose variety, which starts with 95% raw poultry, bone and organs and has no added hormones or antibiotics. It also has a very small amount of 100% organic certified fruits and vegetables. And just like all Stella & Chewy’s products, this recipe is made without grains, gluten ingredients, fillers, or artificial preservatives or colorings.
Benny likes it so much that he’ll come into the kitchen and gaze longingly at the refrigerator, whining softly until I give him some. It’s very expensive – $8.99 for a 3.5 oz bag – and so I shred a few pieces over the kibble. The bag contains a 1/2 cup scoop and suggests that an 80 lb dog like Benny get two scoops per meal. If I did that, the bag be gone in just a few meals, so that’s not happening.
However, when you use just a couple of pellets per meal and shred them over the food, a bag will last for weeks. And Benny approves of that method. :)
Benny’s Brother, Noni Kitty Ochman, also is a huge fan of these pellets, and I sprinkle some on his food too.
